HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall women's basketball is looking for its first Conference USA win as it takes on Memphis in the Cam Henderson Center at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
The Thundering Herd is 6-13 (0-6 C-USA) after taking a 54-47 loss to East Carolina in Greenville, N.C. on Thursday. Erica Woods led Marshall with 14 points after going 5-for-7 from the field and adding two three-pointers.
Shay Weaver is the top scorer for Marshall, averaging 9.8 points per game, and has made 47 three-pointers this season. Chukwuka Ezeigbo leads Marshall on the boards with 6.3 rebounds per game.
Memphis is led by the top scorer in Conference USA, Nicole Dickson, who averages 19.9 points per game. The mark ranks her No. 19 in the nation for scoring. As a whole, the team is averaging 70.8 points per game, which ranks No. 36 in the NCAA.
Marshall leads the all-time series, 10-5, after the two teams first met in 2005. Marshall and Memphis split the two games played last season.
