HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - After earning its first Conference USA win against Memphis on Sunday, Marshall women's basketball looks to continue its success with a televised (FSN) game against UCF (7-14, 1-6 C-USA) on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET in Orlando, Fla.

Herd Closes Out Regular Season with Win over UCF
Shay Weaver hit four three-pointers in the second half to ignite a Marshall comeback that knocked off UCF 69-60 on Thursday. The contest marked the final regular season game for both teams.

The Thundering Herd's victory against Memphis broke an eight-game losing streak. Marshall was led by Shay Weaver with 12 points after the sophomore guard hit four three-pointers. Weaver currently leads Conference USA in three-pointers per game with 2.55 per contest.

The upcoming game against UCF will be the second televised game of the year for Marshall after the Herd faced West Virginia in the Chesapeake Capital Classic on December 4. This will be the second season in a row Marshall is being featured on FSN. The Herd is 6-14 in televised games since joining C-USA in 2005.

Marshall is 7-13 (1-6 C-USA) for the season. Weaver leads the Herd with 10.0 points per game and has made 51 three-pointers this season. Chukwuka Ezeigbo is the team leader in rebounds, grabbing 6.5 per game, and the sophomore forward ranks second in C-USA in shooting percentage with a 52.3 percent mark from the field.

UCF is 7-14 (1-6 C-USA) after taking two losses this past week to Tulane and East Carolina. The Knights are second to last in the league in scoring, averaging 57.1 points per game. Briahanna Jackson is the eighth-best scorer in the conference, averaging 14.6 points per game and she is also tallying 3.1 steals per game. Erika Jones leads the team in rebounds with 7.8 per contest, ranking her No. 9 in C-USA.

Marshall and UCF are tied in the all-time series 8-8 after first meeting in on January 3, 1987. The Herd is 5-3 all-time when playing at UCF.
