HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- The red-hot Marshall Thundering Herd women's basketball team, winners of 11 straight games and in first place in the Mid-American Conference East Divsion, will play host to Buffalo on Saturday. Tip-off at the Cam Henderson Center is at 2 p.m.

Marshall (16-7, 10-2 MAC) owns the nation?s seventh longest current win streak (tied with No. 1/1 LSU) and has its sights set on its first MAC East Division title in school history along with the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MAC Tournament in Cleveland. The Herd is tied with Bowling Green for the top spot in the conference. The Falcons (17-6, 10-2 MAC) will face the defending tournament champion Eastern Michigan Eagles (18-5, 8-4 MAC) at 7 p.m. on Saturday in Ypsilanti, Mich.

Buffalo (4-19, 2-10 MAC) has lost four straight and nine of its last 10 games and sits in last place in the conference. The Bulls are 0-12 on the road this season and have lost 15 straight road contests overall.

Marshall cruised past the Bulls in a January matchup at Alumni Arena by 21 points (72-51).

The Herd?s No. 1 MAC-ranked scoring offense (71.6 points per game) will face off with the Bulls? 13th-ranked offense (53.7 ppg). Buffalo?s scoring defense ranks 12th (71.1 ppg), which bodes well for a Marshall team that is 15-0 when scoring at least 70 points in a game. Marshall allows 65.2 points per game.

The 13th meeting between Marshall and Buffalo will likely be the last as the Herd prepares to move to Conference USA next season. MU leads the all-time series with UB, 7-5, and has won four of the last five meetings, including two straight at the Cam Henderson Center. UB last defeated Marshall in Huntington on Feb. 3, 2001, by a 62-49 final score.

Saturday?s game will be broadcast live on WRVC 930-AM and Marshall?s student station, WMUL 88.1-FM, which will also utilize a web broadcast at
