Herd Plays Final Home Game Against ECU|

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – For the last time this season, Marshall women’s basketball will be playing in the Cam Henderson Center for a contest against East Carolina. The Thundering take on the Pirates Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
The game will feature Senior Night as well as the “Think Pink” promotion sponsored by Mattress Warehouse and Sleep Outfitters. Fans be sure to wear your pink to the game to support breast cancer awareness.
Before the game, Cabell-Huntington Hospital and St. Mary’s Medical Center will be providing promotional items and informational material towards promoting Breast Cancer Awareness, while Jefferson Whitney will be holding a skills clinic at halftime. Jefferson Whitney is a foundation built on helping kids with disabilities or special needs.
Marshall will enter its final home match-up with a 15-12 (6-8 C-USA) record after most recently losing to Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, Miss. on Thursday. Three players scored 12 points during the game including Rashedah Henriques, Shay Weaver and Lateidra Elliott.
The Thundering Herd continues to play with a balanced attack, having nine players averaging over 4.0 points per game. Lateidra Elliott leads the team off the bench with 7.1 points per game. Erica Woods follows with 6.6 points per contest and has a team-high 163 rebounds.
East Carolina looks to repeat the same success found earlier in the season against the Herd, winning the February 12 game, 61-57. The victory broke a 14-game losing streak for the Pirates and gave the team their first conference win of the season at the time.
The Pirates are led by Chareya Smith with 10.5 points per game. Smith is shooting 45.0 percent from the field and averages 4.8 rebounds per game. Kristine Mial follows with 10.5 points per contest and has 44 steals and 26 blocks.
