Some senior advice and words of wisdom from senior Talequia Hamilton...

If I could tell players who aspire to compete in college one thing, it would be that it's never too late to start playing! I started when I was in the seventh grade. I wasn't as developed as others I played against, but I aspired to be as good! That motivated me to get in the gym and work hard to accomplish my dreams.

Looking back on those experiences, I would also tell myself to not get discouraged, especially during my freshman year of college! There were plenty of nights I sat in my room after practice or conditioning and wanted to go home because I felt I was so far behind everyone! You must remember that transitioning from high school to college is a big jump and it takes time! Don't give up and don't get discouraged.

What I want to leave behind for my teammates is the infectious goofy spirit that I possess. I try to keep everyone laughing and smiling, even in practice!

One of my most memorable moments that I have with my team is beating WKU in the 2016 conference tournament to go to the semifinals against Middle Tennessee! It was such a significant game for us because we played WKU twice that year and lost both times. We came in as the underdogs. No one expected us to win so when we did, it was a big deal!

I get a sense of unity from the Marshall community because its level of support for the Thundering Herd, and its programs, grows each year. It's an honor to be a part of Marshall Athletics. I grew up around the city and the school, so I have a great sense of pride when I put on my Marshall jersey!
