Weaver Earns C-USA Freshman of the Week

IRVING, Texas – Freshman guard Shay Weaver earned her second Freshman of the Week honors after making five three-pointers in the comeback victory over UCF on Thursday night.

Weaver scored 15 points in the come-from-behind victory against the Knights for the final regular season game of the year. Marshall earned a 69-60 road win after trailing by six at half-time. The 5-8 guard came off the bench to hit four 3-pointers to start the second half which sparked the Thundering Herd comeback.

She ended the game with a .714 (5-of-7) field goal percentage and an impressive .833 (5-of-6) accuracy from behind the arc. The five 3-pointers mark the most made threes by a Marshall player this season.

Weaver has netted a team-high 37 treys, 30 against C-USA foes, for the 2011-12 season. This is Weaver's second Freshman of the Week honor as she earned her first on Feb. 20.
