Cartwright Named Director of Operations for @HerdWBB
Thundering Herd staff now complete
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Brooklyn Cartwright has been named Director of Operations for Marshall Women’s Basketball, head coach Tony Kemper announced Friday.
“I am ecstatic to be a new member of the Thundering Herd family,” said Cartwright. “I cannot begin to express the gratitude I have for Coach Kemper, his staff, Marshall’s administration and the Huntington community. I feel blessed to have been given this opportunity and am ready to begin this new challenge in Conference USA.”
Cartwright comes to Marshall after serving as a graduate assistant coach for one season at Lenoir-Rhyne University under current Thundering Herd Associate Head Coach Katie Pate. Cartwright helped the Bears to a 17-12 record in 2016-17, their most victories since the 2013-14 campaign, and boasted the nation’s eighth-best scoring defense (55.4).
A 2016 graduate of Georgia Southern, Cartwright was a student assistant for the Eagles, working with the coaching staff in practice and game preparation, as well as basketball operations, recruiting administration and game film.
“Brooklyn is a tremendous addition to our staff,” said Kemper. “She will do a great job of relating to our student-athletes and will make sure our operation runs efficiently. I am very excited for her to get started at Marshall.”
Marshall opens its season on Friday, November 10 versus Longwood in the Cam Henderson Center.
