Gore Named Conference USA Preseason All-Conference

IRVING, Texas – Marshall women’s basketball junior guard Shayna Gore was named to the Conference USA Preseason All-Conference Team, the league office announced today.
C-USA is releasing one player from each the men’s and women’s teams every day from Oct. 16-26. Thursday is day four as now four players have been revealed from the preseason teams.
Gore heads into her junior season with 871 career points, just 129 away from becoming the 21st player in program history to reach 1,000. The Logan, W.Va., native averaged 17.5 points per game during the 2016-17 season and became just the fifth player in team history to score over 500 points in a season (526).
In just two seasons, Gore is tied for fourth place on the all-time list in made 3-pointers with 121. She hit 70 3-pointers during her sophomore season, just two away from tying the Herd single-season record.
Gore ended the season as an All-Conference USA second team selection after leading the Herd in points, assists and steals.
The Marshall women’s basketball team begins the 2017-18 season on Friday, Nov. 10 at 5 p.m., against the Longwood Lancers in the Cam Henderson Center.
