@HerdWBB Announces Two Signings for 2018-19

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall women's basketball head coach Tony Kemper announced the signing Thursday of Lorelei Roper and Kia Sivils for the 2018-19 season.
"I am very excited to welcome Lorelei and Kia to our women's basketball program," coach Kemper said. They are both high character individuals that will value their Marshall education and represent our team in a positive manner."
Roper is a 6-1 center/power forward from Charlotte, N.C. Roper attends Carmel Christian High School and dominated in her junior season. She scored 14.1 points per game, grabbed 11.9 boards and had 3.2 blocks per game. Roper was named SoMeck 8 All-Conference and a South Charlotte 2017 Girl's Basketball Super Team Player.
"Lorelei will instantly provide a defensive presence inside and she plays the game with a toughness that our fans will enjoy watching," coach Kemper said.
Sivils is a 5-7 guard from Lousiville, Ky. Sivils led Sacred Heart High School to a No. 2 ranking this past season. She averaged 10.5 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals per game and had an infectious energy that spread throughout her team.  
"Kia is a very athletic guard who will use that to impact the game on both ends of the floor," coach Kemper said. "She plays on a very good high school team and will bring a winning character to this program."
Marshall begins the 2017-18 season Friday, Nov. 10 at 5 p.m., in the Cam Henderson Center against Longwood.
