Played 13-of-28 rounds Marshall competed in...stroke average of 82.85...hit low-round total of 79 twice: at Draper Valley and at Baytree...highest finish of the year was a tie for 32nd at the 14-team Draper Valley Invitational...shot an 80 in the opening and closing rounds of the year (second lowest rounds of the year)...placed third in the West Virginia Women's Amateur during the summer.
Began the fall season in 2003 after undergoing a massive swing change...plagued by a shoulder injury for the majority of the year, but still managed to post 17 tournament rounds for the Herd...had three top 25 finishes and one top 20 finish...been working hard on shoulder rehab and expected to be back in full form her junior year...in the summer of 2004, she placed fourth in the West Virginia State Amatuer.
Consistently held the number one position on the team and had a 79.39 stroke average for 23 rounds ... recorded three top 10's and six top 25's out of 10 tournaments ... a MAC Golfer of the Week in March ... considered for MAC Freshman of the Year honors as well as All-conference honors ... placed 5th in the Can Am Manac as well as 5th in the W.Va. Women's Amateur in the summer of 2003.
Prior to Marshall:
Finished 15th at the W.Va. High School Tournament as a senior and 3rd in the Twin Falls Junior Open...She was an All-Coalfield Conference selection who recorded a 38.5 (9 holes) stroke average at Liberty High School...Caron was the Top-Flite Junior Tour Female Player of the Year and Honorable Mention All-State player in basketball.
She is the daughter of Mike and Rhonda Caron ... majoring in accounting.
