KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - On day two of the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate, the Marshall women's golf team improved on its first day shooting, but fell back three spots in the 43-team field.
Larie Lynch was once again Marshall's top golfer, shooting an 11-over 83 to move to +21 in the tournament.
Mary Oliver shot an 85 in day two and stands three shots behind Lynch following the second round. Molly Ginger, who shot an 87 in the first day of action, improved by three strokes on Monday, shooting a 12-over 84.
Maria Battaglia and Rachel Halloran rounded out the Herd, both improving on their opening round scores to shoot an 86 on Monday.
As a team, the Herd shot a 338, a stroke ahead of Sunday's 339. The team dropped, though, to 41st in the 43-team field at +101.
The University of Miami stands at +29 after round two and enters Tuesday's final round with a one shot lead over East Tennessee State. Central Arkansas is five strokes off the lead in third while Mississippi and Florida round out the top five.
On the individual side, Elisa Aoki of UCF, Mary Kate Bird of Nebraska and Jessica Yadloczky from Florida are tied atop the leaderboard, two strokes off par.
