Herd Completes Day One of C&F Bank Intercollegiate
Rachel Thompson went seven over par to lead Marshall

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – After round one of the C&F Bank Intercollegiate Tournament at the River Course in the Kingsmill Resort, Marshall women’s golf is tied for 16th of the 28-team field. Round two will start with an 8:30 p.m. ET tee time on Monday.
Rachel Thompson led the Thundering Herd with a plus-7 score of 78, which places her tied for 20th individually of the 148-player field. The junior Mansfield, Ohio native tallied a birdie on the par-three 13th hole and finished even for 10 holes.
Scoring an 81 through 18 holes, sophomore Korakot Simsiriwong scored 10 over par and tied for 54th individually. Drawing even on seven holes through the front nine, Simsiriwong struggled on the back, totaling six bogeys.
Boston College is sitting on top after round one, posting a team score of 302 after having four student-athletes score just six over par or below. Longwood’s Hannah Pierce and Delaware’s Annie Bowlsby are both the individual leaders with a score of 73.
