Women's Golf Tied For 15th Following Day One Of First Market Bank Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Marshall University women's golf team resumed action on Saturday, currently tied for 15th following the opening round of the First Market Bank Intercollegiate.

Pacing the Herd in round one were Rachel Halloran and Maria Battaglia, who each shot a ten-over 82 to open play. That score tied each for 51st overall.

Molly Ginger was three shots behind Halloran and Battaglia, shooting an 85. Mary Oliver shot an 86 while Larie Lynch rounded out Marshall's team four strokes behind Oliver with a 90.

The University of Alabama is the tournament leader, shooting a 306 on Saturday, 18 shots over par. Penn State is second, five strokes behind while Richmond is third at +26.

Marshall is tied with Eastern Kentucky and Methodist University at +47.

The teams will play one more round on Sunday morning.
