FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Marshall women’s golf team completed its 2016-17 season after it finished the final round of the Conference USA Women’s Championship. The Herd earned a ninth place finish with a score of 52-over-par 916.

The season finale also marked the completion of head coach Brooke Burkhammer’s first year of leading the Herd.

The final round of the tournament was the Herd’s best during this year’s C-USA Championship, as it finished the round with a 303. On the individual side, freshman Shelby Braukmuller and sophomore Ylva Forslund posted the best individual rounds for the Herd in the final round, as both had a 2-over 74. Brauckmuller’s final round also caused her to jump up five spots for a tie at 28th.

Junior Leigha Holt finished in a tie for 20th, the highest individual for the Herd.

COACH’S CORNER
Head coach Brooke Burkhammer

“It was definitely not the finish we wanted at Conference, but what a year it’s been this crew. It flew by and we had fun getting to represent the Herd every time. Now we have to focus on final exams and getting better this summer.”
