Women's Golf Finishes Second in the Lady Bison Fall Classic

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Marshall University women’s golf team shot a 305 in the final round of the Lady Bison Fall Classic at Bucknell Golf Club, to earn a second-place finish in the two day event.

William and Mary took first place in the event, shooting an 893, while MU finished with a 929.

The Herd had two players finish in the top 10.  Larie Lynch (Huntington, W.Va.) and Andrea Grier (Hagerstown, Md.) both shot a team-best 73 in the final round to finish tied for third and tied for eighth, respectively.  This is Lynch’s third top-five finish of her collegiate career, while Grier notched her third top-10 finish of her career.

Maria Battaglia (Uniontown, Pa.) shot a 78 in the final round, her best round of the tournament. 

Molly Ginger (Centerville, Ohio) finished with a 239, while Samantha DiDomenico (Follansbee, W.Va.) was just three strokes behind her at 242.


 

 

"I am proud of the teams performance this weekend," said Marshall Head Coach Meredith Knight Rowsey.  "Most proud of their steady improvement each round and for shooting below our goal for the year."

Marshall will return to action on September 27th to participate in the UNCG-Starmount Fall Classic; a three day event in Greensboro, N.C.
