Herd Women’s Golf in Second at Starmount

Sophomore Shelby Brauckmuller is seventh after day one.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Marshall women’s golf team ended the first day of the Starmount Forest Fall Classic in second place. The third and final round will begin Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
The Thundering Herd climbed up two spots after improving by seven shots from the first round to the second. Sophomore Shelby Brauckmuller leads the team ranked seventh overall. She is just four shots back off the lead. Freshman Kerri Parks jumped up 15 places on the leaderboard after improving by four shots from round one to round two, and is tied for ninth. All five Marshall players are ranked in the top half of the field.
Campbell leads the field as all five of its players are in the top 10 on the leaderboard. Annelie Sjoholm of Campbell is the individual leader at minus-1.

“It was a long day but this team knew they had to dig deep in the second 18 holes to put a good round together. It is tons of fun to watch them make putts and hit quality shots. They are a great bunch to be around and we are excited to see how tomorrow goes.”
