GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Marshall women’s golf team finished as the runner-up at the Starmount Forest Fall Classic Tuesday afternoon. All five of the Herd’s players finished in the top 25 on the leaderboard.
The Thundering Herd has now racked up two trophies in the year’s first two tournaments. Marshall won the Roseanne Schwartz Invitational back on Sept. 5.
Sophomore Shelby Brauckmuller finished in the top 10 for the second time this fall with a sixth place spot. Senior Leigha Holt and junior Ylva Forslund both improved on their round two scores to climb up a few more spots on the leaderboard. Freshmen Kerri Parks and Stormy Randazzo finished in the top 20 for the second time in their collegiate careers.
Campbell won the team competition with an overall plus-5, 869 for the tournament. The Camels featured four players in the top five, including Stacey White who won the individual title. White shot even par the first two rounds and then came through with a 3-under 69 in the final round.
Head Coach Brooke Burkhammer
“Exciting to see the hard work pay off for these girls. They held it together this whole tournament and had a positive attitude. I am very proud of each one, and it’s going to be an awesome fall season with this competitive group.”
