Women's Golf Wraps Up Fall Season With 11th Place Finish At UAB Beach Bash

GULF SHORES, Ala. - Whitney Wolejko shot a team-best 77 as the Marshall University women's golf team improved two spots to finish the UAB Beach Bash in 11th place on Tuesday.

Wolejko was one of four MU golfers to shoot an 81 or lower. Two strokes behind Wolejko was Andrea Grier, who shot a 79, followed by an 80 from Larie Lynch and an 81 from Molly Ginger.

Ginger, who shot a 74 to lead the Herd on Monday, tied for 18th place overall with a total of 155 (+11). Lynch tied for 26th with a 157.

Amber Littman led a trio of East Carolina golfers who finished in the top five overall, helping the Pirates to a dominating win in the tournament. The Pirates finished the tournament with a 589, 21 shots ahead of the nearest challenger, Texas San Antonio.

The Herd finished with a two-round score of 644, two shots behind Eastern Kentucky, who finished tenth. Marshall's second round score of 317 was ninth best of the day.

This will mark the final tournament of Marshall's fall season. The team's next competition will be the weekend of March 9 when the Herd travels to Pinehurst, N.C. for the Pinehurst Challenge.
