HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall women's golf travels to Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va. to participate in the C&F Bank Intercollegiate Tournament. The three-round event will start at noon on Sunday and continue on Monday and Tuesday.
The competition will be played on the River Course at Kingsmill Resort, a 6,100-yard par-71 course that is also used for the LPGA Kingsmill Championship annually and was used as the Michelob Ultra Open (LPGA) and Michelob Open (PGA) for a number of decades.
"We are really excited to kick off spring break at Kingsmill and start to build some momentum as the Conference USA Championship approaches," head coach Meredith Knight Rowsey said. "This event will give us three more competitive rounds and a chance to see where we are and where we need to improve going forward. We've had a couple of quick turn-arounds in the last couple weeks, but I think we've settled into things and I think the girls are ready to play some great golf this week."
The 27-team tournament field will include Boston College, Boston University, Columbia, Delaware, Fairfield, Garnder-Webb, Hartford, High Point, Hofstra, Lehigh, Longwood, Monmouth, Mount St. Mary's, Navy, Penn State, Quinnipiac, Randolph-Macon, Richmond, Sacred Heart, St. Francis (Pa.), St. John's, St. Leo, Towson, William & Mary, Winthrop, Wofford, and Yale.
Longwood returns to the C&F Bank Intercollegiate as the tournament champions, while Longwood's Kameron Carter became the first two-time individual champion in event history last year after tallying a record-low of plus-eight.
Marshall will be traveling five golfers for the invitational including red-shirt senior Maria Battaglia, senior twin sisters Caitlyn and Kristyn Morrone, junior Rachel Thompson, and sophomores Megan DiDomenico and Korakot Simsiriwong.
