Herd Travels to Texas for Dallas Athletic Club Invitational

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - This Friday through Sunday the Marshall women’s golf team will travel to Dallas, Tex. to participate in the Dallas Athletic Club Invitational. This event will start at 9 a.m. ET on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, players will start with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. ET.  

The 54-hole tournament will be played at the Dallas Athletic Club, a course that has hosted numerous championship tournaments including the PGA Championship, Senior Amateur Championship and the TGA State Amateur Championship. Rounds one and two will be played on a 6,301-yard, 71-par course, while round three will be played on a 6,359-yard course.

The competition includes fifteen teams, six of which are included in the top 50 of the GolfWeek/Sagarin rankings. Teams include Denver (38), Kansas State, Louisville, Marshall, Missouri State, Nebraska, North Texas, Notre Dame (24), Ohio State, Oklahoma (2), Oklahoma State (23), Oregon State, SMU (34), UTSA (45), and Wisconsin.

Marshall will be traveling five golfers for the invitational including red-shirt senior Maria Battaglia, senior twin sisters Caitlyn and Kristyn Morrone, junior Rachel Thompson, and sophomore Korakot Simsiriwong.
