RICHMOND, Ky. - Allyson Hatcher (Wheeling, W.Va.) and Jodie Switzer (Collingwood, Ont.) pace the Marshall women's golf contingent after Thursday's first round of play at the EKU Spring Invitational, played at Arlington Golf Course.

Hatcher, a junior, and Switzer, a senior, both carded a 9-over 81 in the first of three rounds at Eastern Kentucky. A trio of teammates (Tammy Mahar, Meredith Crislip and Whitney Wolejko) sit four strokes behind with 85s.

As a team, Marshall is in 13th place in the 14-team field. The Herd posted a 336 through 18 holes, with the top four scores out of five counting toward the team total.

Marshall's former Mid-American Conference rival Toledo leads after 18 holes with a 299. The Rockets' Kim Kester (72) and Tammy Clelland (74) sit at No. 1 and 2, respectively.

Round two will commence with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Saturday's final round will also begin at 9 a.m.
