Women's Golf Prepares for Conference USA Championships
The 54-hole event will take place over the next three days

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall women’s golf travels to Gulf Shores, Ala. to put a cap on the 2012-13 season with the Conference USA Championships, which will take place from Monday to Wednesday. The Thundering Herd tees off the opening round at 9:35 p.m. ET tomorrow morning.
The 54-hole championship will be played at the Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club, which is a par 72, 6,246-yard course. The winning team receives an automatic berth into the NCAA Regionals. This is the third straight year that the tournament has been hosted at the Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club.
Marshall will be traveling five golfers for the invitational including red-shirt senior Maria Battaglia, senior twin sisters Caitlyn and Kristyn Morrone, junior Rachel Thompson, and sophomore Korakot Simsiriwong.
Simisiriwong tied for seventh at last season’s championship and will lead Marshall as the Herd will be paired with UAB tomorrow morning. Tuesday and Wednesday’s action is slated to start at 8:45 p.m. ET each day.
