The men's and women's 2013 golf seasons at Marshall are about to tee off.
Both teams have finalized their fall schedules and will be competing Sept. 9-10.
Men's golf will be at Guyan Golf and Country Club in Huntington, W.Va., for the 44th annual Joe Feaganes' Marshall Invitational. The women will open at the Murray State Drake Creek Invitational in Ledbetter, Ky.
The Thundering Herd men will compete in five tournaments during the fall season, beginning action with the 15-team Marshall Invitational, recently renamed in honor of Joe Feaganes, who was the Herd coach for four decades.
The Herd will then hit the road for its remaining four tournaments, traveling to the John Piper Intercollegiate (Bowling Green, Ohio), Patriot Intercollegiate (Lorton, Va.) and Bearcat Invitational (Hebron, Ky.).
This will be the squad's fifth straight appearance at the Bearcat Invitational. Marshall saw its best result in the tournament last year with a third-place finish. For the second year in a row, Marshall will conclude its fall schedule at the OBX/ODU Collegiate at Kilmarlic in Powells Point, N.C. The Herd finished 12th in the tournament last season.
The women's team has four fall events, starting play in back-to-back weeks in Kentucky - the first in the Murray State Drake Creek Invitational.
Marshall will travel the following week to Simpsonville, Ky., for the Cardinal Cup, hosted by Louisville. After competing at The Preview (Fisher, Ind.) on Oct. 7-8, the Herd will wrap up in the Dayton Fall Invitational (Kettering, Ohio).
