Coming off of a second-place finish in the season opener, the Marshall University women's golf travels to Lexington, Ky. to compete in the Wildcat Fall Invitational running from Saturday to Monday.
Marshall finished in the runner-up spot in the Lady Herd Fall Classic two weeks ago. Sophomore Larie Lynch (Huntington, W.Va.) earned medalist honors finishing with the best individual score in the tournament and because of her play won Conference USA Golfer of the Week.
Along with Lynch filling out the starters for the Herd are freshman Rachel Halloran (Leawood, Kan.), sophomore Mary Oliver (North Hills, Calif.), senior Meredith Crislip (Parkersburg, W.Va.) and senior Whitney Wolejko (Hatfield, Mass.).
Marshall will compete against 13 teams including five teams ranked in the top 50 in the nation and two conference opponents. Teams include #15 Alabama, Arkansas, #31 Central Florida, #5 Florida, Indiana State, Illinois, Memphis, Miami, Middle Tennessee State, #43 Mississippi State, Richmond, South Florida, and host #23 Kentucky.
The event will take place at the University Club on the Big Blue Course. Tee time is set for 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and a shotgun start Monday at 8:30 a.m.
