Women's Golf Sets Sights for Lady Pirate Intercollegiate|

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Thundering Herd women’s golf team will look to improve from its last outing as it participates in the 2012 Lady Pirate Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday in Greenville, N.C.
The fifty-four hole event is being held at the Greenville Country Club, a par-72, 6,004-yard course in the eastern part of the state. East Carolina is the host. Thirty-six holes are scheduled for Monday. Action each day is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m.
This is the Herd’s first outing in two weeks when it tailed a fourth place finish at the Cardinal Classic. Korakot Simsiriwong was the tournament’s overall winner with a 151 (+7) two day score.
Marshall is one of 20 teams in the field that includes Augusta State, Boston College, Brown, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Elon, Georgia State, High Point, Longwood, Maryland, UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Wilmington, Old Dominion, Radford, Samford, Southern Miss, Western Carolina, William & Mary, and Yale.
East Carolina and Coastal Carolina look to be the strong teams in the field. They are currently ranked 26th and 38th respectively in the Golfweek rankings.
Maryland is the tournament’s defending champion.
