Herd Women’s Golf to Finish Fall Season at Palmetto Intercollegiate
Tournament to take place Oct. 22-24
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Marshall women’s golf team will finish out the fall 2017 season at the Palmetto Intercollegiate hosted by the College of Charleston. The event takes place Oct. 22-24 and will consist of three rounds, one round each day.
Marshall has had a very successful fall season with three trophies in four events. The Thundering Herd won the Roseanne Schwartz Invitational (Sept. 4-5) and the Shirley Spork Invitational (Oct. 9-10) while finishing as the runner-up at the Starmount Forest Fall Classic (Oct. 2-3). The Herd is coming off a fifth place finish out of 15 teams at the Bill Berg Invitational (Oct. 16-17).
Competing for Marshall will be senior Leigha Holt, junior Ylva Forslund, sophomore Shelby Brauckmuller and freshmen Stormy Randazzo and Kerri Parks.
Eighteen teams are participating in the event. Along with Marshall and the host school College of Charleston the other teams are Boston University, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Chattanooga, Daytona State, East Tennessee State, Kansas, Kennesaw State, Mercer, Mississippi, North Florida, Old Dominion, Troy, Tulsa, UNC Greensboro and Xavier.
The Palmetto Intercollegiate will be played at the Turtle Point Golf Course. The par 72 course covers 5,981 yards. Play is scheduled to begin Sunday, Oct. 22 at 8:45 a.m. Marshall is scheduled to begin play at 9:18 a.m.
