Women's Golf Takes Part in First Annual Memphis Women's Invitational

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.- Marshall women’s golf travels to Memphis, Tenn. to compete in the First Annual Memphis Women’s Invitational at Ridgeway Country Club on Oct. 25-26. 

The two-day tournament will consist of 54 holes on the par 71 course (6,176 yards).  Monday will include two rounds, 36 holes, accompanied by the final 18 holes on Tuesday.  Each day is set to begin with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

Memphis hosts the 18-team field; Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Belmont, Boise State, Butler, Cincinnati, Evansville, Illinois, Indiana State, IPFW, Mississippi State, Missouri-KC, Missouri State, Samford, along with Conference USA foes Southern Miss and UAB are participants in the tournament. 

MU will send Molly Ginger (Centerville, Ohio), Allison Harper (Upper Arlington, Ohio), Elin Anderson (Stockholm, Sweden), Rachel Thompson (Mansfield, Ohio) and Michelle Sabo (Columbus, Ohio) into action. 


 

 

The Herd will have had a two week layoff since tying for seventh in the Zippy Invite on Oct. 11-12.  Marshall stood in second place following a round one score of 319 but weas unable to keep pace in Monday afternoon’s second round.  Ginger led the Herd attack tying for 16th place with a three round total of 243.
