Jaime Gruber joins the coaching staff as a student manager this fall after playing for Marshall from 2001-2005. Gruber served as the team captain for three years,2002-2005, the only player in the program history to accomplish this feat. During her career at Marshall Gruber started 68 matches and took 94 shots, both ranking third all time at Marshall. Gruber also entered the record books for total matches played with 69 and total assists with 11. On her career, Gruber has five goals, 11 assists and 21 points.

Gruber received several team awards for her accomplishments on the field. In 2002 she was selected as a member of the Ole Miss All-Tournament team. In 2005 she was selected to the Samford Bulldog Invitational All-Tournament team. In 2003, she was awarded the team's Hustle Award, which was followed by the Heart and Soul Award in 2004, and the Player of the Year, the Heart and Soul Award, and the Leadership Award after her senior season in 2005.

She has served as a staff coach at the prestigious Pennsylvania Soccer Academy, under the tutelage of Darren Ambrose and has worked with several teams in the West Virginia Soccer Club and the Internationals, from Cleveland, OH.

Gruber has also played in the USL's W League with the Cleveland Internationals (2004) and in the WPSL, with the Steel City Sparks (2005).

Gruber will graduate in December with a degree in sports management and marketing and hopes to attend grad school while continuing her coaching career.
