BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Three goals in the first 15 minutes helped propel Campbell to a 4-2 victory over the Marshall women's soccer team Monday night.

Marshall (2-3) dropped below five hundred with the loss, while Campbell remained undefeated at 2-0-1.

The Camels wasted no time in Friday's action at Eakes Athletics Complex, netting goals in the 6th, 9th, and 14th minutes to jump out to a very quick 3-0 lead. Taylor Brown, Michelle Procaccini, and Ashley Clark were the respective goal-scorers that forced the Thundering Herd to play from behind for nearly the entire match.

Clark, who also assisted Procaccini's goal in the first half, struck again in the 52nd minute to extend Campbell's lead to 4-0.

Marshall began to cut into the deficit later in the second half when Chelsey Maiden scored her second goal in as many games, but a talented Campbell squad - picked as heavy favorites to win the Big South Conference - had all the answers.

Herd freshman Kelly Culicerto added her first collegiate goal in the final minute, but consolation would be all it would provide. Junior Morgan Cain was credited with the assist.

Marshall will return to the road for its next match against Morehead State on Friday, September 7 at 7 p.m.
