Herd Records Scoreless Draw at Southern Miss
Women's soccer moves to 6-4-2, 1-2-1 C-USA

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – After 110 minutes of action, Marshall women’s soccer drew with Southern Miss, 0-0, Sunday afternoon at Southern Miss Soccer Complex.
The tie moved the Herd to 6-4-2, 1-2-1 in Conference USA play. The Golden Eagles moved to 6-4-4, 0-2-2 in the conference.
Despite outshooting Southern Miss, 26-14, Marshall could not get on the scoreboard. Following the match, Marshall’s scoreless streak was extended to 357 minutes. The last time the Herd found the net was on the game-winning penalty kick versus Old Dominion, Sept. 27.
The Herd had plenty of offensive opportunities in the second half of regulation, recording 13 shots, and came the closest when sending four shots in during the 64th-65th minute. Sophomore Kelly Culicerto (Charlotte, N.C.) led Marshall’s shot chart with a career-high six strikes, and fellow sophomore Erin Simmons (Gahanna, Ohio) matched her career-high, contributing five shots for the Herd.
Junior goalkeeper Lizzie Kish (Boyertown, Pa.) (6-4-2) picked up her seventh shutout in the outing, which moved her into third place all-time in Marshall’s record book for season shutouts. She made five saves on the day.
