Marshall Women's Soccer Announces Spring Schedule

HUNTINGTON - Marshall University women's soccer head coach Chris Kane announced the Thundering Herd's 2007 spring schedule Wednesday.

"We're really excited to get started this weekend in Lexington. We have put together a tough spring schedule which will help us improve our game and reach our goals next fall," Kane said.

Marshall will participate in the University of Kentucky's 10 vs. 10 Indoor Tournament on Feb. 18, the Germantown Soccer Club College Challenge on Feb. 24th in Memphis, the Ohio University Friendlies on April 1 and the University of Georgia Friendlies on April 14 before traveling to Wright State on April 20th. Marshall will close out its spring slate with an April 21 contest against a team comprised of Marshall alums.

The Thundering Herd will compete against Morehead State, East Tennessee State, Kentucky, Arkansas State, Ole Miss, Xavier, Georgia, Tennessee, Georgia State and Wright State this spring.

"Playing four SEC programs will really give us a good idea of where we are as a program and where we need to get to in order to be consistent in Conference USA," Kane added. "Playing the entire spring schedule on the road will also help build unity among the team and really test our character. It also gets us front of a great number of future recruits."
