Women's soccer schedule
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall women’s soccer coach Kevin Long announced the schedule for spring competition, naming five dates and nine opponents coming up for the Thundering Herd.
The spring segment will begin March 30 with a trip to Pittsburgh, Pa., for a match against Pitt, and it will conclude April 27 in Blacksburg, Va., where Marshall will play against Virginia Tech and Radford.
Other competition during the month of April will include meetings with University of Charleston, Alderson-Broaddus College and West Virginia Wesleyan in Charleston, W.Va., on April 3, Dayton in Dayton, Ohio, on April 13, and Duquesne and Robert Morris back in Pittsburgh on April 20.
Three of the nine upcoming opponents advanced to the NCAA national tournament last season, with West Virginia Wesleyan going as far as the second round of the Division II tourney. WVW defeated West Chester 1-0 in the first round but saw its season end at 12-6-3 with a 2-0 loss to Gannon.
Virginia Tech (13-6-1) and Radford (14-3-4) carried 13-win seasons into the Division I tournament but fell in the first round to No. 14 Georgetown and No. 13 UNC, respectively.
