Women's Soccer Announces Two Additional Camps over the Summer
The two camps will be held from July 24-27 and July 29-30
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall women's soccer team announced the addition of the Girls' High School Team Camp and the GK/Striker Camp over the month of July, head coach Kevin Long announced Thursday.
"We are excited to reintroduce these great opportunities for players and schools within the state to train and play together before their high school season kicks in," Long said. "We will provide all teams with a college training experience, while it is a great way for Marshall women's soccer to give back to the community."
The dates of the Girls' High School Team Camp will be from July 24-27 and it is open to teams of all levels. Each team will be coached by the Marshall women's soccer coaching staff for a total of two training sessions, as well as one game per day. In addition, fully customized training plans are available for each team and team building exercises will be planned each day.
The GK/Striker Camp will be held from July 29-30. It is a specialist camp that offers direct instruction and coaching to two specific areas related to the game of soccer. It is an opportunity for all campers to focus on the final product, whether it is putting the ball in the back of the net or the goalkeeper making a save.
These camps are in addition to the Thunder in the Summer 7V7 Tournament, held from June 17-18. It is $200 per team and U-9 through U-12 will be seven-vs.-seven, while middle school and high school ages will play six-vs.-six. Each team will play a minimum of three games with a championship match possible. The deadline to register is on June 5.
