Herd Women's Soccer Unveils 2018 Schedule
Marshall will play eight home games and 11 games on the road
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall University 10th-year head women’s soccer coach Kevin Long announced the schedule of the 201808 season on Monday. The Herd’s 19-game slate includes eight home matches at Hoops Family Field and 11 games on the road.
The Herd will open the season when it hosts Morehead State (Aug. 9) for an exhibition. From there, Marshall will stay on the road for three games when it travels to Youngstown, Ohio, to take on Youngstown State (Aug. 13), then to Teaneck, N.J., to face Fairleigh Dickinson (Aug. 16) and will close out the three-game trip in West Point, N.Y. when it plays Army (Aug. 19). The Herd will then return home for its regular season home opener against Tennessee at Martin (Aug. 24) and will close out the month at home when it hosts Eastern Kentucky (Aug. 31).
MU will head back on the road to begin the month of September when it takes on Ohio (Sept. 2) in Athens, Ohio, and then will head to North Carolina to close out the non-conference schedule at High Point (Sept. 7) and at Gardner-Webb (Sept. 9). The Thundering Herd will return home to open up league play when it welcomes Florida Atlantic (Sept. 14).
In addition to the contest against the Owls, the rest of Marshall’s home slate includes games against FIU (Sept. 23), Rice (Oct. 12), North Texas (Oct. 14) and finally Louisiana Tech (Oct. 21) for senior day. The Herd will be on the road against UTEP (Sept. 20), Old Dominion (Sept. 28), Charlotte (Sept. 30), UTSA (Oct. 7) and it will conclude the regular season at WKU (Oct. 26).
