Thundering Herd Women’s Soccer Pegged to Finish Ninth in Preseason Poll
The top eight schools make it into the Conference USA Tournament
IRVING, Texas – Marshall’s women’s soccer team was predicted to finish ninth in the preseason poll, the league announced Monday.
The top eight teams in the conference make the C-USA Tournament, which will be held from Nov. 1-5 in Boca Raton, Fla.
The Thundering Herd did not have any selections for the preseason All-C-USA team.
Last season, Marshall finished the year with a 6-7-4 (4-4-2 C-USA) overall record and a ninth-place finish in the league, narrowly missing the C-USA Tournament. The Herd had two players on the All-C-USA team, Sydney Arnold (2013-16) and current sophomore Jordan Sackaris.
The Herd is set to play its first exhibition of the season at Eastern Kentucky on Aug. 9 in Richmond, Ky.
