Women’s Soccer Set to Play Final Exhibition Game at James Madison

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall women’s soccer team will end its 2017 preseason when it travels to Harrisonburg, Va., to take on the James Madison Dukes on Sunday, Aug. 13, at Sentara Park at 6 p.m.

The Marshall Thundering Herd is coming off a 2-1 exhibition defeat at the hands of the Eastern Kentucky Colonels on Wednesday, Aug. 9. Freshman Canaan Booton (Lavalette, W.Va.) scored the Herd’s lone goal of the contest in the final minutes of the match.

James Madison opened up its preseason with a 2-0 victory over Radford. Junior Christine Tack and freshman Ginger Deel scored in the final 20 minutes of the third period. JMU racked up 15 shots across the three 30-minute periods, winning the shot count by a 15-6 margin, including a 13-4 lead in the final hour.

The Thundering Herd will open its regular season when it travels to Martin, Tenn., to take on the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks on Friday, Aug. 18, at 7 p.m. at Skyhawk Field.
