HAVE YOU HERD
Marshall concluded its preseason with a 2-0 defeat at James Madison on Aug. 13. Junior Jayne Lawman (Winfield, W.Va.) notched a team-high three shots and two shots on goal. Senior Emily Moreland (Springboro, Ohio) and sophomore Megan Bonelli (Apollo, Pa.) each put in 45 minutes in goal, while Moreland earned a shutout in the first half of action.

SCOUTING THE SKYHAWKS
Marshall will meet Tennessee-Martin for the first time in program history. The 2017 campaign will mark head coach Phil McNamara's 20th season at the helm of the Skyhawks. Juniors Amy McGivern, Danae Kaldaridou and Maggie Burkett are projected to lead the Skyhawks during the upcoming campaign. All three midfielders have earned All-OVC honors in their UT Martin careers.

The Skyhawks will field the third-largest freshman class in the nation as 12 newcomers are set to suit up for their collegiate debuts.

SCOUTING THE RACERS
For the second straight year, Murray State has been picked to win the OVC soccer title as voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. The Racers, who won a share of its second straight OVC regular-season crown during the 2016 season, received 10 of the 22 first-place votes and 184 points.

Murray State welcomes back senior forward Harriet Withers, who is a two-time OVC offensive MVP and has 25 career goals to her name. The Racers also return All-OVC defender Nyomi Devine and All-OVC Newcomer Karsyn Hasch, also a defender.
