HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall women’s soccer team (0-3) will split time on the road and at home over the weekend when it travels to Dayton, Ohio to take on the Dayton Flyers (1-2) on Friday, Sept. 1, at Baujan Field at 2:30 p.m. After that, the Herd will welcome the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs (0-3) on Sunday, Sept. 3, at 1 p.m. at Hoops Family Field.

HAVE YOU HERD
The Herd fell to Longwood in a 2-1 double-overtime thriller on Aug. 27 in its home opener. Freshman Mary Lawman (Winfield, W.Va.) scored her first collegiate goal, while sophomore goalkeeper Megan Bonelli (Apollo, Pa.) made nine saves, which put her season total at 29 saves. As it stands, Bonelli’s 9.7 saves per game has put her on pace to reach 164 saves this season, which would break Ashleigh Woods’ program record of 119 saves made during the 2004 season.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
When the Herd travels to Dayton, it will be a reunion of sorts for Mary Lawman and her sister Jayne Lawman. Sophomore Jordan Pauley is a former teammate of the Lawman sisters from their high school days at Winfield. Between the three, they boast the last four Gatorade West Virginia Girls Soccer Player of the Year Honors, with Jayne winning it in 2014 and 2015, Pauley winning in 2016 and Mary winning in 2017.

The Flyers are coming off a 3-0 victory over Saint Francis on Aug. 27. Alexis Kiehl, Sidney Leroy and Sara Robertson all got on the scoresheet for Dayton. In the preseason, Kiehl was one of 30 players selected to the women's Missouri Athletic Club 2017 Hermann Trophy Watch List. She was the only representative from the Atlantic 10 on the list of standout student-athletes.

SCOUTING THE RUNNIN’ BULLDOGS
Gardner-Webb is coming off a 2-1 defeat against Maryland on Aug. 25. Stina Keleppe scored the Runnin’ Bulldogs’ lone goal of the contest.
