Herd Drops Heartbreaker to Wright State

    DAYTON, Ohio – Mary Beth Young scored a goal off a free kick with 57 seconds remaining in the game to give Wright State a win, 1-0, over the Marshall women’s soccer team on Sunday night at Alumni Field in Dayton, Ohio.

    Marshall (2-1-2) was outshot by the Raiders 14-10 and controlled most of the offense the entire game.

    “We did not get it done tonight,” head coach Chris Kane said. “This is obviously a very disappointing loss, but we don’t have time to sulk.

    “We have the defending MAC champion (Western Michigan) coming to Huntington on Friday and we need to make sure we take care of business in the conference.”

    Wright State moves to 2-2 on the year.

    The Herd gets a break after playing five games in ten days. MU challenges MAC foe Western Michigan at Sam Hood Field on Friday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m.
