Herd Squares of with Pirates in Women's Soccer Action

HUNTINGTON- The Marshall University women's soccer team takes to the road for a match with the East Carolina Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 at Bunting Field.

The match marks Marshall's (4-5-1/ 0-2-0 C-USA) third contest away from Sam Hood Field as well as third conference game of the season. The Herd fell to Memphis and UAB during its C-USA opening weekend on Sept. 29 and Oct. 1.

ECU (5-5-2/ 0-1-1 C-USA) tied Memphis on Sept. 29 in a double overtime match and fell to the Blazers in overtime on Oct. 1.

This is only the second meeting for the two teams. Last year the Pirates overcame Marshall 1-0 in a double overtime victory.

The Herd will return to Sam Hood Field for a two game home stand with Southern Miss on Oct. 13 and UCF on Oct. 15.
