HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Ball State forward Dee Nocero knocked in a goal ten minutes into the first half to down Marshall 1-0 in women's soccer action on a rain-soaked Sam Hood Field.

The defensive battle went down to the wire as Marshall missed several opportunities in the final minutes to tie up the match.

Marshall was out-shot by the Cardinals 11-8.

Ball State also took a whomping ten corner kicks to the Herd's three.

Senior Stacy Wells (Monroe, Ohio) , who recently made the jump from defender to forward, led all Herd shooters with three.
