HUNTINGTON- Molly Snead was selected to the All-Freshman team today when Conference USA announced its 2006 women's soccer All-Conference performers as selected by the conference's head women's soccer coaches. This is the first accolade Marshall women's soccer has received since becoming a member of C-USA
"This is a great accomplishment for Molly and our program to be recognized by the other coaches in the conference," head coach Chris Kane said. "We feel this is a well deserved award and we look forward to helping her reach her full potential in the coming years and pushing us to higher levels."
Snead started all 17 matches for the Thundering Herd this season at the forward position. Her speed and skill up top earned her three goals and two assists. Two of her three goals were scored in conference play, one against UAB and the other in the 2-1 loss at Tulsa. She ranked third on the team in shots with 25- 11 of which were on goal.
"I am really excited to receive this award. I was not expecting this at all. I would not have been able to do this without the great support of the coaching staff and team, especially the freshman class," Snead said.
Snead, a forward from Cincinnati, Ohio, was the only member of the team to be selected for an all-conference award.
