Marshall Softball Recently Named All-Academic Team
Seven student-athletes honored as NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes
Following a successful career as a member of the Thundering Herd, Melanie Stoehr will join the softball team as a graduate student manager for the 2012 season.
As a member of the Herd from 2008-2011, Stoehr competed in 210 games and started all but once during her time. Throughout her four years, Stoehr hit .262, had 90 runs batted in, and had a fielding percentage of .978. Her best year was during the 2009 season when Stoehr started every game and batted .370, while driving in 35 runs, and posting a slugging percentage of .593, all career highs.
A Tacoma, Washington native, Stoehr was named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll her junior and senior years and also received academic medal accolades.....earned first appearance on the C-USA All-Academic Team during junior year...named to the ESPN/CoSIDA Academic All-District team...named a 2010 NFCA Scholar Athlete...was rewarded for her on-field abilities during her sophomore year by being elected to the NFCA All-Regional First Team.
Stoehr earned her undergraduate degree in Sports Management and Marketing with a minor in Recreation and is currently pursuing her MBA.
