2011 (Junior):
Participated in 43 games, starting 28 of them, mainly in left field, but also appeared in center field...compiled the best fielding percentage among the Herd at .971...only had one error on the year, lowest total on the squad...had three multiple hit games...posted career best numbers in batting average, at-bats, hits, and slugging percentage... named to C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2010 (Sophomore):
Started in 29 games, 28 at left field...recorded a career best two runs scored against Boston on Feb. 26 and again against Wright State on April 14...belted a double against Michigan State on Feb. 12...notched three RBI against Dayton on April 18...was 5-for-10 on stolen bases...made her first appearance on the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2009 (Freshman):
Made an appearance in 41 games with 13 starts in right field...picked up her first hit in the season opener against Seton Hall as a double with an RBI...finished the season with eight stolen bases.

Prior to Marshall:
Member of two West Virginia state championship softball teams in 2007-2008 at Huntington High...named to the all-conference, all-state and two times to the all-tournament teams...winner of the 2008 United States Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award...honored as the female athlete of the year at Huntington High...2007 defenisve player of the year in high school...finished her career with a batting average of .563 and on-base percentage of .692...also played basketball all four years of high school...played summer ASA ball for the WV Dusters under Steve Hall.

Born Samantha Rose Spurlock on June 25, 1990...daughter of Sam and Christy Spurlock...has three brothers, Brad, Marc and Owen...majoring in marketing.
