SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Marshall Thundering Herd softball game against the Colorado State Rams at the USD Invitational scheduled for 9:30 a.m. (PT) has been cancelled, due to inclement weather.

The Herd will not get another chance to play this weekend and will finish its originally scheduled five-game weekend with a 3-0 record. Rain postponed Friday's action, but Marshall still managed to get one game in, a 4-2 victory against Nevada.

Saturday's games were played on time in the sunshine. The Herd defeated San Diego, 6-4, to open the day and finished Saturday with a 12-1 rout against UC Riverside.

"It was a great weekend going 3-0," head coach Shonda Stanton said. "The girls represented Marshall well. It was nice to play in front of many family and friends."

Marshall returns to action for its final tournament of the year at the 2008 Frost Classic at Chattanooga, Tenn., Friday, Feb. 29-March 1.
