Freshman Jazmine Valle has been named the Marshall Student Athlete of the Week. Valle led the Thundering Herd at the plate for the week with a .467 batting average in five games, including hitting at a .300 clip against conference opponent East Carolina. Valle put up one double, three RBI and one home run against the Pirates while posting a .700 slugging percentage. Against UNC Greensboro, she was 2-for-2 with one RBI and one run scored and went 2-for-3 in game two. Valle also finished the week with a team-best on-base percentage of .500.
