Williamson Named Student-Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Senior Andi Williamson, who recorded 36 strikeouts in 32 innings pitched while helping the Marshall softball team to a 5-0 record this week, has been named the school's Student Athlete of the Week.

The Harts, W.Va. native pitched in all five games and recorded the win in four of them, 2-0 over Wright State, 1-0, 6-3, 6-1 over Memphis, and her first save of the season, 6-4 over Wright State. In the 1-0 win over the Tigers which was won in the 11th inning, Williamson (22-11) pitched all 11, allowed three hits and struck out 13.

Her era on the week was 0.88 and opponents hit just .154 against her.

The Thundering Herd (23-12) won its 13th consecutive game on Saturday, continuing its best streak in school history.
