HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The softball game between the Marshall Thundering Herd and the Morehead State Eagles scheduled for Wednesday, April 19, has been canceled due to inclement weather. The single game will not be rescheduled.
Marshall and Morehead State split a home-and-home this season as the Herd hosted the Eagles on March 28. Marshall won the game 8-0 in five innings as senior pitcher Jordan Dixon completed her second career no-hitter. The win was the Herd’s 16th in-a-row during a program-best 17 game winning streak that spanned the entire month of March and the first game of April.
Marshall defeated the Ohio Bobcats Tuesday at Dot Hicks Field to improve to 34-7 this season. Next up, the Herd travels to Blacksburg, Va., to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies (17-28). The three-game series begins Friday, April 21, at 7 p.m. The teams then play a doubleheader Saturday, April 22, beginning at 12 p.m. The Hokies play at Radford Wednesday in a single game at 5 p.m.
