HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall softball (21-27) will host Ohio (25-19) in a Wednesday doubleheader in the Thundering Herd's final non-conference matchup of the season.

The Herd is coming off of a sweep of new Conference USA member FIU over the weekend. The victories moved Marshall into a tie for sixth in the C-USA standings with an even 9-9 record.

Senior Savanah Webster (Las Vegas) batted .833 in the three-game set with two doubles, a home run, three runs scored and three RBI. She had a 1.667 slugging percentage and was walked three times, putting her on-base percentage at .889.

Freshman Jordan Dixon (Edmond, Okla.) recorded 17 strikeouts in 16 innings. She held the Panthers to a .127 batting average and earned two victories on the weekend. The pitcher is making moves in the Marshall single-season record books for strikeouts in a season. She currently sits in seventh place with 194 K's.

Junior Kristina Braxton (Woodbridge, Va.) leads the Herd with a 16-game on-base streak, trailing sophomore Kaelynn Greene's (Eastvale, Calif.) season-best mark of 18 (ended April 13). Webster has an active on-base streak of 14 games.

Freshman Morgan Zerkle (Milton, W.Va.) has a five-game hitting streak. She is also closing in on first place in the Herd's single-season record book for most stolen bases in a season. She is two shy of taking the top spot and currently sits in a tie for second with 40.

Ohio has won six of its last eight games, but is coming off of two losses at Ball State over the weekend. The Bobcats are led offensively by sophomore Amanda Dalton with a .333 average, followed by a .321 mark from junior Adrienne Gebele.

Gebele and senior Alexandria Basquez lead the power categories for Ohio. Gebele has hit seven home runs and 10 doubles and recorded 24 RBI, while Basquez has blasted six homers, connected for nine doubles and leads the team with 35 RBI.

Sophomore Savannah Dorsey has made 37 appearances in the circle for the Bobcats with an 18-13 record. She boasts a 2.56 ERA behind 202 strikeouts. Junior Lauren McClary holds a 6-4 record and 3.60 ERA from 27 appearances.
