Senior Rachel Folden is Marshall University's first student-athlete of the week. The Baldwin Park, Calif., native has been pacing the Herd all season long with a .433 batting average. She has a team-high in doubles with 20 and home runs with 17. During last weekend's final home series against Tulsa, Folden went 4-for-8 with a home run. Her .920 slugging percentage ranks second in the nation, while she is in sixth place in on base percentage with a .568. Folden was also recently announced as a finalist for the Lowe's Senior Class Award. The Herd's all-time RBI and home run leader is currently two homers shy from owning the Conference USA career record. She is also ranked in the Top 20 on the NCAA all-time home runs list with 58. Folden is a history major with a 3.33 GPA with a minor in mathematics.
